Dhanmanjiri Sathe is a retired from the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics in 2025. Earlier to that she was a Professor and Head at the Dept. of Economics, Savitribai Phule Pune University for many years. Currently she is a Professor Emeritus at the Savitribai Phule Pune University and Visiting Professor at the Azim Premji University, Bengaluru.

She has taught at the University of Goettingen, Germany and University of Prague for many years. She was a Fulbright-Nehru Senior Fellow for the year 2012 – 13. She has published widely in academic journals like EPW and has a few books to her credit. Currently she is working in the area of unemployment in India.
