Biography

Chinju holds a PhD in Economics from IIT Delhi. Her primary interest lies in understanding issues related to women’s work in general, and particularly in the manufacturing sector. Her doctoral research at IIT Delhi examined some aspects of female labour force participation in India. Her current research interests include industrial policy and structural transformation in India.

Chinju was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the New Political Economy Initiative at IIT Bombay before joining the University. She was also a visiting faculty at the Symbiosis School of Economics, Pune, and has also taught at the School of Management Studies, NIT Calicut. She holds an MPhil degree from the Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum and an MA in Economics from Loyola College, Chennai.

Beyond research and teaching, she enjoys reading and tending to her garden.
