Biography

Chandrakant is a part of Admission Outreach for undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma programmes at Azim Premji University.


Chandrakant completed his education at different places in Maharashtra and has traveled to many places in India nurturing his interest in understanding societies and communities. He has more than 7 years of experience years across multiple IT and development sectors. He started his career with Amazon Development Centre, moved to TomTom, and then to the development sectors in education, livelihood, and public health. 


Before joining Azim Premji University, he worked with various grassroots organisations in various capacities. Most recently at Samajbandh, he was a Programme Manager responsible for managing various programmes, internships, crowdfunding, social media & content for Samajbandh. He also contributed to hiring, training, & building the team along with setting up the process.

He has pro bono worked as a teacher at The National Federation of The Blind, Maharashtra, Pune. Also, worked as an educator and mentor at Eklavya India Foundation enabling access to many first-generation university graduates to higher education.

He graduated as a Computer Engineer, from Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly Pune University), Pune. He has a Certification in ITIL Foundation in ITSM. He holds a master’s degree in Sociology from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. He has qualified for the University Grant Commission — National Eligibility Test (UCG-NET) in Sociology in December 2020- June 2021. He also has a Diploma in IT Infrastructure, Security, and Systems (DITISS) from Advanced Computing Training School – CDAC HQ, Pune.

He enjoys readings on science, history, culture, arts, innovation & technology, personality development, international relations, and past and contemporary research. Meeting, listening, and having conversations with people come naturally to him. He is always keen on understanding and discussing societal problems and trying to find solutions. He fondly captures moments and emotions with a lens and pens them down into poetry.
