Biography

Awadhesh is part of the Translations Initiative at the University. 

After completing a postgraduation in Hindi literature from Allahabad University, Awadhesh completed his PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi on Critique of Indian Democracy in Post-Independence Hindi Poetry in 2010. 

He started his career as a journalist with Prabhat Khabar and Tehelka. He was part of Sahapedia, an open encyclopedic resource on the arts, cultures and histories of India. 

He started teaching in 2013. He has taught at Assam University Diphu Campus (AUDC)(2013 – 2016) and at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi (2016 –22). He developed and taught different core and elective courses here.

Apart from core discipline Hindi literature courses and compulsory courses like Poetics and History of Hindi Literature, some of the elective courses were Bhartiya Evam Vishwa Sahitya, Introduction to Dalit Literature through Poetry (bilingual course), Sahitya mein samaanya aur manovikshep ki samajh, Hindi, Urdu, Hindustani: Language Debates through Literature.
