Biography
Askar is a passionate math educator, and working in the areas of linear algebra, matrix analysis, and matrix equations, with particular interest max-plus (tropical) algebra. Before joining Azim Premji University, he was working as a post-doctoral researcher at IISER, Thiruvananthapuram. He completed his PhD in Mathematics from BITS Pilani, Goa Campus, where his doctoral work focused on Yang-Baxter type matrix equations and matrix theories in max-plus algebra. His PhD was done under the supervision of Dr. Himadri Mukherjee. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri (affiliated to University of Calicut) and a Master’s degree from CUSAT, Kerala.
