Biography

Anuragini holds a PhD and MPhil in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. She earned her Master’s degree in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, and her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi.

Her research reflects a sustained engagement with the works and ideas of Max Weber and Erving Goffman. Her doctoral dissertation was an ethnographic study of the bureaucratic training of civil servants in India, based on immersive fieldwork at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie.

Before joining Azim Premji University in 2024, she taught at three colleges of the University of Delhi — Lady Shri Ram College (2016), Hindu College (2017−18), and Jesus and Mary College (2018−2024) — as Assistant Professor of Sociology.

Beyond her academic work, Anuragini enjoys listening to Hindustani classical music and reads poetry with deep interest. Indian handlooms are an abiding passion.
