Biography

Anuragini has a PhD and MPhil in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi. She has a Master’s degree in Sociology from Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi. 

Her research career has been marked by a sustained engagement with the works and thought of Max Weber and Erving Goffman. Her doctoral work is an ethnographic study of bureaucratic training of civil servants in India, through an immersive study of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) at Mussoorie. 

Prior to this, she taught at three colleges of the University of Delhi – Lady Shri Ram College (2016), Hindu College (2017−18) and Jesus and Mary College (2018−2024) as an Assistant Professor of Sociology.

Anuragini reads Hindi and Urdu poetry and listens to Hindustani classical music with deep interest. Indian handlooms are an abiding passion.
