Anismita Bhengra

Biography

Anismita Bhengra is a passionate social worker who completed her master’s in social work, specialising in youth and community development, from Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development. She also holds a BA in Sociology from Dibrugarh University. She is committed to working with children and young people, with a focus on emotional wellbeing, psychosocial support, life skills education, counselling, career guidance and mentoring. Her work is guided by the belief that small positive changes can contribute to building a healthier and more compassionate society.

Before joining the University, she worked with SOS Children’s Villages of India as Senior Co-worker Education. In this role, she worked closely with children and young people to support their overall development, including emotional resilience, personal growth and future readiness. She is particularly interested in creating supportive spaces where young people feel heard, valued and empowered to make informed choices about their lives.

Her areas of interest include child development, youth development, mental health and counselling, women’s empowerment and community development.

Anismita enjoys travelling to different places, meeting new people and learning about diverse cultures through conversations and food. She also enjoys reading books that contribute to her personal and professional growth, especially in the areas of self-development and community wellbeing. In her free time, she enjoys nature photography, cooking and learning new languages.
