University Frisbee team brings home the gold

Organised by India Ultimate and Indian College Ultimate, this is a prominent college-level Ultimate Frisbee competition in India — and our team has emerged victorious for the second time in a row.

We would like to congratulate the team for their persistence, passion, and excellent performance.

Ultimate Frisbee as a tool for social change

Can a non-refereed, self-officiated sport like Ultimate Frisbee rewrite the rules of social equality, gender inclusion, and community building in urban India? Host Ashish Krishna (Faculty Member, Azim Premji University, Bhopal) sits down with Benoy Stephen (Co-founder of Y Ultimate), a Delhi-based non-profit organisation using Ultimate Frisbee as a powerful tool for life skills education and social impact.

Benoy shares the inspiring journey of Y Ultimate, starting from public parks like Zamrutpur in South Delhi to empowering young leaders and athletes on national stages. Together, they dive into breaking traditional gender stereotypes through co-ed sports, navigating restricted public spaces in fast-paced cities, overcoming systemic funding and bureaucratic hurdles in India’s Sports for Development sector, and why long-term behavioural change requires sustained community investment.
