Azim Premji University to launch new series of workshops and public lectures at Science Gallery Bengaluru on October 19

Azim Premji University is launching a new series of public lectures and workshops at Science Gallery Bengaluru on October 19, spread over two days.
Programme schedule:
October 19 | 11 AM: K. Subrahmaniam, Former Professor and Centre Director, Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, Mumbai, will conduct ‘Paper and Play’, a hands-on workshop on mathematics. During the three-hour workshop, participants will experience the fun of mathematics by playing games and creating different patterns by cutting and folding papers.
October 19 | 4 PM: Gita Chadha, School of Arts and Sciences, Azim Premji University, will shed light on how women and members of marginalised communities face difficulties in pursuing science as a career.
October 20 | 11 AM: Aahana Ganguly, School of Arts and Sciences, Azim Premji University, will speak on nanoparticles in the human body. Using everyday examples like cigarette smoke, sunscreen, air pollutants and wound dressings, Aahana Ganguly will take us on a journey through the multidisciplinary field of nanoparticles. She will explore the intersection of nanoscience and medicine, focusing on cancer therapy and the challenges involved in the process.
October 20 | 4 PM: Divya Uma, School of Arts and Sciences, Azim Premji University, will draw us into the fascinating world of insects and their impact on humanity. In her talk, Divya will show how insects wear their skeletons on the outside, breathe with holes in their bodies, and taste with their feet.
Select books from Azim Premji University’s Schoolbooks Archive—a collection of over 10,000 books in 16 languages and covering a wide range of school subjects— will also be on display.
