Consultant — Local Governance and Welfare – Centre for Local Democracy
We invite applications from experienced practitioners for the position of a consultant in documenting field stories of FRA implementation.
The Centre for Local Democracy, a unit of the School of Continuing Education at Azim Premji University is engaged in research and documentation of good practices in local governance in the thematic areas of Panchayati Raj, Forest Rights Act, PESA, MNREGA and others. The centre has taken up a project of documenting field stories of implementation of forest rights from 8 – 10 states. Its looking for consultants to take up writing the field based case studies.
Responsibilities:
- To do the field work gathering primary qualitative data on the field implementation of the forest rights, studied from the forest dweller communities point of view.
- To write analytically credible case studies capturing the enablers and barriers of recognising the individual and community forest rights and related entitlements
Requirements
You should have:
- Post graduate in any discipline and relevant work experience.
- Good understanding of forest rights and its complex processes and procedures of access and recognition
- Experience in field documentation of forest rights or similar issues of access and recognition of rights
- Skills of doing analytical qualitative field studies
- Strong technical writing skill in English
