The Committee for Rationalization and Optimization of Functioning of Sector Skills Councils was set up in May 2016 under the Chairmanship of Sh. Sharada Prasad. The report of the Committee detailing its review of the Councils is available here.

Volume I is the main report dealing with the major challenges facing the vocational education and training system of the country, and recommendations for rationalisation of Sector Skill Councils. Volume 2 contains appendices. Volume 3 contains the mapping of codes of National Classification of Occupations, 2015 with National Industrial Classification codes, 2008.

NITI Aayog | January 28, 2018

In May 2017, the Government appointed a Task Force for improving the employment data in India. Headed by the vice-chairman of the NITI Aayog, the Task Force was mandated to examine existing sources of data on employment, identify alternate sources that could provide data on jobs and job creation, and finally, recommend mechanisms that could effectively capture jobs and job creation in the formal and informal sectors.

NCEUS | October 17, 2017

The National Commission for Enterprises in Unorganised Sector was set up under the chairmanship of Dr. Arjun Sengupta in 2004. It’s purpose was to function as an advisory body to examine matters relating to unorganised sector and informal employment. The Commission has been instrumental in publishing a number of reports examining various aspect of the informal sector and bringing out recommendations to improve productivity, provision of social security and means to promote dignity of labour in the unorganised sector.
