The Schoolbooks Archive is a multilingual, open-access repository that offers wide-ranging, printed curricular materials concerning school and teacher education in India. Covering a period of 200 years and in seventeen languages, the materials available on the repository include school textbooks, workbooks, laboratory manuals, curriculum and syllabi documents, school dictionaries and atlases, reports on various aspects of school curriculum, magazines for teachers, and books and modules produced for teachers and teacher educators. 

About the talk

                In this talk, we shall introduce the archive and the materials made available, the processes we follow in collecting and adding materials to the repository. We shall also show how this collection can be accessed easily, and discuss how individuals and organisations interested in school education can contribute to this repository. We will also discuss how the Schoolbooks Archive’s collection complements other online archival projects concerning school education in India.
