Azim Premji University is organising ​‘Sahitya Sahavasa’ — the fourth edition in a series of events to celebrate Karnataka’s rich cultural milieu, its literary icons, and the Kannada language  — in Sirsi on May 13.

The Sirsi event will celebrate the life and literary contributions of prominent Uttara Kannada litterateurs Gowrish Kaikini, Yashwant Chittala, V G Bhat, and Shantinath Desai. 

Well-known author and lyricist Jayanth Kaikini will inaugurate the event and deliver the keynote address. The day-long programme will feature talks by writers Rajendra Chenni, Raghavendra Patil, MG Hegde and Kamalakar Kadave, rendition of songs of poets of Uttara Kannada district, and an exhibition of portraits of these litterateurs. Separately, prizes will be awarded to the winners of the literary competition organised for students as part of the event.
