About the Programme:

Azim Premji University is hosting a talk on Evidence of Agriculture in Sanganakallu Neolithic Site, Ballari by Dr. Ravi Korisettar, Hon. Director, Robert Bruce Foote Sanganakallu Archaeological Museum, Ballari, and Adjunct Professor, National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bengaluru. This talk will present new understandings of how agricultural economies and ritual practices took shape between 2000 and 1000 BC. Centered on the Sanganakallu – Kapgallu hills, just northeast of Ballari, Karnataka, it highlights the continuity from the Neolithic to the Iron Age through discoveries from multidisciplinary studies and excavations. 

The lecture is part of the Samskruti Sambhrama series, celebrating Karnataka’s rich cultural heritage.
