About the Speaker

V Manikandan is a development practitioner with over 16 years of experience in the sector before joining Azim Premji University in 2021. His extensive expertise spans areas such as action research, NGO governance, grant management, fundraising, planning, monitoring and evaluation (PME), and operations, including finance and human resource management. 

Manikandan’s research focuses on the right to food and social inclusion, with a particular emphasis on urban poverty. He is skilled in narrative analysis, a tool he employs to explore beliefs and social institutions. Before joining Azim Premji University, Manikandan was associated with prominent organisations, including Kozmetsky Global Collaboratory (KGC, Stanford University), the Centre for Equity Studies (CES, New Delhi), and the Timbaktu Collective (TC, Anantapur). His decade-long tenure at TC culminated in his role as Director of Operations and Administration, overseeing its overall operations.
