The complex interplay of science and art has fascinated thinkers, artists, and scholars throughout history. If you are passionate about writing comics or you are an aspiring illustrator, we are thrilled to share with you our online Science Illustration and Comic Contest. Sci-Art Contest offers young artists a platform to express their understanding and imagination of science through art and storytelling.

Students can showcase their talents by submitting their illustrations or comic strips on one of the following themes :

• A World Without Vaccines: Illustrate or create a comic depicting a world where vaccines do not exist. Consider the impacts on health, society, and daily life.
• Human-Nature Conflict: Create an artwork or comic that explores the conflicts arising from different aspects of human nature, such as selflessness vs. selfishness, or innovation vs. tradition.
• Developments in Agriculture: Illustrate a comic that highlights significant advancements in agriculture, their benefits, and their challenges.

Most unique, imaginative, scientifically accurate and rich narrative quality (for comics) will be awarded. 

Contest Details :

• Eligibility: Students aged 13 – 17 from any school
• Format: This is an online contest. Participants can submit either an illustration or a comic strip
• Submission Period: 7 August — 31 August 2024

Submission Guidelines:

• Illustrations: A single image should capture the chosen topic’s essence
• Comics: Should be a sequence of panels (maximum of 6 panels) that tell a coherent story related to the selected theme
• Format: Submissions should be in digital format (JPEG, PNG, or PDF)
• Size: Maximum file size of 10 MB
• Originality: All entries must be original works created by the participants
• Submitting entries: All submissions should be uploaded through the google form.
• Details to be included: Each entry must include the participant’s name, date of birth, school name with no short forms, city name and a brief description (100 words) of their artwork or comic

Note: Azim Premji University reserves the right to publish the submitted entries on its website and social media handles. Contributors of the published work will receive credits. There is no fee to participate in the contest.
