An Introduction to Archaeology

A workshop designed for school students to explore the fascinating field of Archaeology

APU Archealogy Updated

A pot is made to hold water… A miniature terracotta animal is a toy… Why has the bullock cart’s form remained unchanged? To know more, join us at Azim Premji University, Bhopal, where we are hosting an introductory workshop on Archaeology for school students.

History is taught in grades across schools wherein students learn about Archaeology through the Harappan Civilisation and others.  Archaeology is a social science that intersects with other social sciences, humanities, and natural sciences. It is a scientific study of the material remains (artefacts, architecture and sites) of past human life and activities.

Through this workshop, students will be introduced to the field of Archaeology, the methods involved, the scope of this discipline and its career prospects.

Participation

The workshop is open for school students of grades IX-XII from schools based in Bhopal. There is no participation fee and a certificate of participation will be awarded on completion of the workshop.
