Conversations on Schoolbooks in India

Join us in our discussion with Dr. T V Venkateswaran. He is a senior scientist at Vigyan Prasar, Dept. of Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi. He has written about, in a series of essays, science textbooks for schools and popular science books published in Tamil in nineteenth-century Madras Presidency.

This is the first in a series of interviews on the development, production and use of schoolbooks in India in the last 200 years. These events are a part of activities related to the soon-to-be-launched Schoolbooks Archive Portal, a project of the Knowledge Resource Centre, Azim Premji Foundation.
