This course aims to introduce students to telling personal, poignant or political stories about themselves and their location in the world through poetry and portraiture. As creative expressions courses focus on embodied practice and inquiry, students learn about themselves and their relationship with the world in embodied ways, learning through doing.

In this course, students will be introduced to different means of writing poetry as well as to artists, who have employed self-portraiture as their mode of making artistic work through the centuries.
