This course covers the principles and applications of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), a crucial methodology for evaluating the environmental impacts of products, processes, and services throughout their entire life cycle. Students will learn to conduct LCAs by understanding and applying key concepts such as goal and scope definition, inventory analysis, impact assessment, and interpretation. The course will also examine how to integrate less-studied but important aspects of social sustainability into LCA, and discuss why this is essential through case studies. Through training in state-of-the-art LCA software and example datasets, students will gain the skills to perform comprehensive LCAs for the workplace.
