The Calligraphy 101 course at Azim Premji University introduces beginners to copperplate calligraphy over fifteen three-hour sessions, emphasising hands-on practice with traditional tools like oblique pens and pointed nibs. Through instructor-led demonstrations, visual aids, and structured practice sheets, students progress from basic strokes to intricate letterforms and compositions. 

Through four assessments, including a collaborative group project, technical proficiency and aesthetic appreciation are evaluated. Continuous feedback and peer reviews foster skill development and critical thinking. 

Culminating in a CRX mela showcase, the course ensures accessibility, technical mastery, and a deep appreciation for calligraphy’s elegance, aligning with CRX requirements.
