This episode of Noorakke Nooru Karnataka looks back at that period not to rank events, but to understand what stayed in public memory.

It begins with moments that brought the state to a standstill — like the abduction of Dr. Rajkumar—and shifts to figures who dominated headlines in very different ways, including the rise and fall of Vijay Mallya, which came to symbolise ambition, spectacle, and accountability in the new millennium.

It looks at how sport created new communities through the journey of Royal Challengers Bangalore, and how culture found quieter but lasting forms through spaces like Rangashankara, which reshaped how theatre lived in the city.
Cinema, literature, and music are treated as part of the same conversation. Films such as Dweepa, Mungaru Male, Lucia, Thithi, and KGF are placed alongside books that turned personal memory into shared history—Mayaloka, Ammachi Yemba Nenapu, Swapna Saraswata, Mandra, and Nanna Thamma Shankara. ರಾಯಲ್ ಚಾಲೆಂಜರ್ಸ್ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಮೂಲಕ ಕ್ರೀಡೆಯು ಹೊಸ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿತು ಮತ್ತು ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ರಂಗಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಮರುರೂಪಿಸಿದ ರಂಗಶಂಕರದಂತಹ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಹೇಗೆ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾದ ರೂಪಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡಿತು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಇದು ನೋಡುತ್ತದೆ.
