Biography
Sajan teaches Communication and Marketing courses at the School of Development. He crossed over to the social sector and academia after spending 20 years in industry practice spanning media and corporate communications.
At Verizon India, where he led its communications and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) functions, Sajan led strategic initiatives for organisational transformation, branding and employee engagement besides establishing CSR partnerships for social development in the areas of sustainable energy, education, and gender justice. His areas of specialisation include corporate communication, crisis communication, climate change communication and strategic reputation management. Prior to Verizon he had worked with Hewlett Packard, Infosys, Sify, and The Malayala Manorama group.
He is currently pursuing PhD in civil society-corporate interface of climate change discourse, and his research interests include sustainability & climate change communication, organisation-public relationships (OPR), responsible business practices and CSR. His writings have appeared in The Hindu, Deccan Herald, New Indian Express, Scroll and Reputation Today among others.
