Rigorous field engagement is integral to our MA Development programme and Winter Field Project’ is an important component of this. Students are expected to ideate and work on a field-based research or action project of their interest. This includes the development of proposals under the guidance of a Faculty Mentor and dedicated fieldwork of eight weeks at the end of their third semester.

The field projects cover pertinent social issues including rural livelihoods, disability rights, agriculture and land rights, citizenship and identity, gender and sexuality, and so on.

Students of the 2022 – 24 batch have completed their fieldwork and will be presenting their learnings through posters during the Field Project Fair. This event is an amalgamation of students’ engagement with numerous social issues, demonstrating the depth of their understanding.

This two-day event is not just about what the individual students did in the field but also exhibits the array of socio-economic and ecological issues our MA Development students engage with.

We cordially invite you to witness the field learnings of students represented through posters and various other digital media. This will also be a great opportunity to interact with the student community, university members, and other guests at the Fair.
