’ महात्‍मा गांधी के जीवन मूल्‍य और प्रकृति के प्रति नजरिया’.

The fifteenth conversation in the Gandhi 150 series is with Rajendra Singh, an environmentalist and conservationist.

Rajendra Singh was inspired by Gandhi, Jayprakash Narayan and Vinoba Bhave, and has worked extensively in the area of water conservation. He is known as जल पुरूष’ (or the waterman of India).

As the Chairman of Tarun Bharat Sangh’, he worked with the Gandhi Peace Foundation to help revive water conservation strategies through johads’, anicuts’ and other structures across many villages in Rajasthan. This has helped the villages to own the water management in their semi-arid area, resulting in the revival of many rivers too.

Rajendra Singh has been awarded the Magsaysay Award (2001) and Stockholm Water Prize (2015).
