This course will give you the foundation for the rest of the mathematics courses that follow. We will teach you how to ​“do” mathematics.

With a focus on mathematical language and thinking, we take you through logical thinking, analytical thinking, proof techniques and how to communicate arguments. You will observe patterns, pose problems, demonstrate the use of techniques, all in mathematical language. You will demonstrate understanding of some basic concepts of discrete mathematics, specifically from Graph Theory, Number Theory and Combinatorics.

The course will take you through how to read, write and explain mathematical arguments using appropriate mathematical language.
