Quantitative Analysis and GIS January 2024 Batch
This certificate intends to build the capacity of the social sector organisations in quantitative analysis and GIS for social action.
It comprises two courses, focusing on:
- The use of quantitative techniques to analyse and interpret relevant organisational and public data sets.
- Utilising GIS tools to visualise and spatially relate local and national non-spatial data with spatial layers of analysis.
The certificate aims to make practitioners comfortable with handling different levels and types of datasets towards answering questions relevant to their social action needs such as monitoring, planning and designing interventions or campaigns.
The courses will be transacted through an interactive pedagogy, designed specifically for practitioners — which combines an understanding of concepts and theories with hands-on experience of doing quantitative analysis and using GIS tools.
Participants will be introduced to different thematically relevant datasets. They will also have an opportunity to work on their own datasets, if available.
This is a 3‑month programme and will be delivered in a hybrid mode with 2 weeks of face-to face classes, followed by online classes.
