Initiatives

The idea of University “Initatives” emerged from the need to develop a deeper understanding in some areas within the broad domains, the University is engaged in. These initiatives are led by senior faculty members and have dedicated teams attached to them. They promote engagement with current and historical ideas, bring together experts in these areas through seminars, conferences and workshops and create new knowledge through research. The initiatives go far beyond the confines of the University program curriculum.

The work of these initiatives simultaneously benefit our degree programs, practice and research and directly contribute to the development of specializations, as well as continuing education programs.

It was in Gudalur, an amazing landscape in the Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu, that I did my two week field immersion. The exposure to the vast share of unseen indigenous knowledge and culture of the Adivasi community in Gudalur was an exciting experience.
