Biography

Rajan Kumar Singh is a faculty member at the School of Continuing Education University Resource Centre, Azim Premji University.

He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Delhi, where his research examined democratic deepening and self-rule in Panchayati Raj Institutions, based on empirical studies in West Bengal and Jharkhand.

He holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science (Hons) from St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi.

He has over a decade of experience across policy research, governance consulting, development practice and development communication, working with regional, national and international organisations as well as political institutions on issues related to public policy and governance.

He has been a visiting faculty at institutions including the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, the State Institute of Rural Development (Jharkhand), and the University of Delhi, where he has taught research methodology, rural governance and political structures. 

He has also designed and conducted training programmes and developed learning modules for diverse stakeholders, including students, civil society organisations, elected representatives and government functionaries.

Earlier in his career, he founded and led a grassroots organisation in Jharkhand, working on education, youth development and policy advocacy
