Biography
Nickhil Sharma is an interdisciplinary environmental social scientist whose work examines the social, political, and ethical dimensions of climate change, digitalisation, and energy transitions. He holds a PhD in Environmental Social Sciences from the University of East Anglia, UK and an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden.
His research draws on environmental sociology, science and technology studies, and feminist and justice-oriented theory to understand how accelerating socio-technical transitions reshape inequality, governance, and public policy. He is an Honorary Fellow at the 3S (Science, Society and Sustainability) Research Group at the University of East Anglia and a Senior Fellow at the Melton Foundation, where he mentors social innovators across the Global South addressing Sustainable Development Goal challenges in their local contexts.
He has taught and mentored students and practitioners in the UK, Germany and India and remains committed to bridging critical social science and policy practice.
