Biography
I trained as an experimental physicist, and my world-view and approach to a problem are geared towards such an inquiry and process. My doctoral (IISc, Bengaluru) and post-doctoral work (KTH, Stockholm) were in the field of semiconductor processing and characterization. My current investigations are in the general area of stochastic or random processes, such as traffic and transportation, using computational and machine learning tools. I like to find the little ways in which science applies in daily life and strive to make its methods and instruments accessible to students or general public.
Technology and the medium of films interest me. An overview of my activities may be found at http://murthyovsn.net.
