Biography

Jayapadma has thirty years of experience in social development practice, and has over these years worked with community-based organisations, bilateral aid, corporate social responsibility initiatives, and academic and research institutions. Notable among her organisation affiliations are Gram Vikas ‑Odisha, Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation, InterGlobe Foundation, South Asia Women Foundation India, Institute of Rural Management — Anand, Indian Institute of Management – Udaipur, TERI School of Advanced Studies, and Rajghat Besant School. 

She brings expertise in gender-responsive and inclusive development, results-based management, and systems thinking, with sectoral experience across education, health, livelihoods, natural resource management, habitat development, and local governance. Her research and writing engage with questions of just, equitable, sustainable, and community-centred development.

Jayapadma is an alumnus of the Institute of Rural Management, — Anand and a Chevening Scholar. She serves on the governing board of several Indian non-government organisations. 

At the university she is associated with the School of Continuing Education — University Resource Centre.
