Biography

Ashish is a part of the Undergraduate Programme.

He has a PhD from the department of Humanities and Social Sciences at BITS Pilani, Goa campus and a Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Cochin University of Science and Technology. 

Ashish is passionate about integrating sport and physical culture studies into academic curricula. He is enthusiastic about the transformative potential of sport and bats for inclusive sporting spaces and cultures. He is keen on leveraging the potential of sport as a conduit for social change and teaching essential life skills to students. 

In his full-time and part-time teaching roles, Ashish has taught in various colleges across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. Ashish’s research focus is at the intersection of sport, gender and postcolonialism. He has research publications to his credit in international journals and edited volumes in the field of the sociology of sport and the history of sport.
