Stories of Change — Case Study Challenge 2020 – 21

Recognising good practices for social change

The Covid-19 pandemic exposed several weaknesses in healthcare, insecure livelihoods, forced mass migration, and the collapse of welfare systems. It also witnessed large-scale collective action by citizens and civil society organizations through rapid and sustained humanitarian response, healthcare provisions, livelihoods, and influencing policy to address relevant issues. Citizens formed new informal and formal associations to support responsibilities towards those affected by the pandemic across the country.

We launched Stories of Change: Case Study Challenge to encourage organisations in the social sector organisations to develop a deeper knowledge base for the sector. We are dedicating the third edition of the initiative to social actions taken in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

You may submit a case study under one of the following themes:

  • Humanitarian response to specific communities in rural, urban and forest areas
  • Healthcare responses specific to Covid-19
  • Livelihoods response to specific communities
  • Welfare and entitlement responses e.g. MGNREGA, PDS, Pension, DBTs and many others
  • New initiatives cutting across these above themes and more including matters related to policies

Representatives from NGOs, social movements, and informal citizen groups are encouraged to participate. Students, researchers or funding organizations may participate, too, in collaboration with one of the institutions mentioned above.
