ಗಂಗಾವತರಣ- ದೈವಿಕನದಿ ಅವರೋಹಣ | Gangavatarana – The Descent of the Divine River

ಗಂಗೆಯು ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿನ ಪಾದದ ಸ್ಪರ್ಶದಿಂದ ಹರಿದು, ವಿಶ್ವಚೇತನದಲ್ಲಿ ದಿವ್ಯಕೃಪೆಯಾಗಿ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಪೋಷಿಸುವ ನಿಜದ ಜಲವಾಗಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕರುಣೆಯ ರೂಪಕ ನದಿಯಾಗಿ ಹರಿಯುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಈ ಕರುಣೆಯೇ ಅಜಾಮಿಲನನ್ನು ಗಂಗಾದ್ವಾರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾರಿತೋರಿಸುವಾಗ ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ, ಇದೇ
ಕರುಣೆಯೇ ಅಂಗುಲಿಮಾಲನನ್ನು ಪಾಪಮಯ ಜೀವನದಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವಾಗ ಬುದ್ಧನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದೇ ಕರುಣೆಯೇ ಕಾಳಿದಾಸನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷಳಾದಾಗ ದೇವಿಯ ಕೃಪೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದೇ ಕರುಣೆಯೇ ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕಿಯ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ.ರಾಮನಾಮದ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ 

ಪ್ರತಿ ಬಾರಿ ನಾವು ಭಗೀರಥನು ದಿವ್ಯಗಂಗೆಯನ್ನು ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ತಂದ ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಾಗ, ಆಕೆ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಸುವ ಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಅನುಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. 1943ರ ಬೆಂಗಾಲ್ ದುರಂತದಿಂದ ನೋವಿನಿಂದ ನಲುಗಿದ ದಾ.ರಾ. ಬೇಂದ್ರೆ, ಭೂಮಿಯ, ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ಮತ್ತು ಸೃಜನಾತ್ಮಕ ಆತ್ಮದ ದಾಹವನ್ನು ತಣಿಸಲು ಈ ಕರುಣೆಯ ನದಿಯನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿದರು 

ಬೇಂದ್ರೆಯ ಕಾವ್ಯವನ್ನು ಭರತನಾಟ್ಯದ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿರಳವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಅವರ ಕವನಸಂಕಲನ ಗಂಗಾವತರಣವು ಬೇಂದ್ರೆಯ ಜೀವನದ ಘಟನೆಗಳನ್ನು, ಬಡವರ ಮೇಲಿನ ಅವರ ಕರುಣೆಯನ್ನು, ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಶೋಧಕನೊಬ್ಬನ ಜೀವನದ ಕಥೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬೆಸೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಕಾವ್ಯಮಯ ಕಥನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಭಾ ರಾಮಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಮತ್ತು ಜನನಿ ಮುರಳಿ ತಮ್ಮ ನೃತ್ಯದ ಮೂಲಕ ನಾಟ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾವ್ಯವನ್ನು ಬೆಸೆಯುವ ಕಲಾತ್ಮಕ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವಾಗಿ ವೇದಿಕೆಗೆ ತರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

The Ganga rests within the universal consciousness as Divine Grace until pierced by Vishnu’s foot. She then flows downwards both physically, as the water that replenishes the earth and metaphorically, as a river of compassion. It is this compassion that is reflected by Vishnu when he guides Ajamila towards Gangadvaara. It is this compassion that is reflected by Buddha, who saves Angulimala from a life of sin. It is this compassion that is reflected in Devi’s grace for Kalidasa and the power of Rama Nama in Valmiki’s life. Every time we recount the story of Bhagiratha, who brought down the Divine Ganga in her physical form to the Earth, we are reminded of the ephemeral grace that she represents.

Dr Da Ra Bendre, pained by the Bengal Famine of 1943, called out to this River of Compassion to quench the thirst of the land, the mind and the creative spirit. The poetry of Da Ra Bendre has rarely been explored in the format of Bharatanatyam. Gangavatarana, his collection of poems, blends anecdotes from Bendre’s life, such as his empathy for the poor, with the story of a literary researcher devoted to his life and work. 

This poetic narrative is brought to the stage by Prathibha Ramaswamy and Janani Murali, who weave dance and poetry together through their performance.

Prathibha Ramaswamy is a Bengaluru-based Bharatanatyam practitioner, an A- grade artist of Doordarshan, and an Indian Council for Cultural Research (ICCR)-empanelled performer. With over three decades in the art, her choreographic works, such as Akka Mahadevi and Krishnakumari have received critical acclaim. She has performed at premier venues, including Dover Lane, Kalakshetra, and Kinkini Festival.

ಸೃಜನಶೀಲ ಅಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳ ಕೃತಿಯ ಓದಿನಿಂದ ಓದುಗನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಂಟಾದ ಸಂವೇದನೆಗೆ ರಂಗ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದ ಫಲಶ್ರುತಿಯೇ ಈ ರಂಗ ಪ್ರಯೋಗ. ಈ ಏಕ‑ಪಾತ್ರ ರಂಗ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಧಾರಾಣಿಯವರು ಕುವೆಂಪು ಅವರ ಕಾನೂರು ಹೆಗ್ಗಡತಿ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯ ಸುಬ್ಬಮ್ಮಳ ಪಾತ್ರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮುಖಾಮುಖಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಾ ಈ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತಮ್ಮ ದೇಹ, ಧ್ವನಿ, ಭಾಷೆ, ಸತ್ತ್ವಗಳನ್ನು ಪಾತ್ರದ ಜೊತೆ ಅನುಸಂಧಾನಗೊಳಿಸುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಪಾತ್ರ, ಭಾವ, ಅಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ಹೊಸ ಆಯಾಮವನ್ನು ರಂಗದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹುಡುಕಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

This theatrical experiment is an outcome of an effort to align stage language with the sensations evoked in the reader by a novel with creative expression. Radha Rani engages with this process in this solo performance by immersing herself in the character of Subbamma from Kuvempu’s novel Kaanooru HeggaDati. By connecting her body, voice, language, and essence with the character, she seeks to explore new emotional and expressive dimensions of the role on stage.

ರಾಧಾ ರಾಣಿ ಮೂಲತ: ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಸಿರಸಿಯವರು. ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಿಂದ ಭರತನಾಟ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿ.ಎ ಮತ್ತು ಎಂ.ಎ ಪದವಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೈಸೂರು ರಂಗಾಯಣದಿಂದ ಅಭಿನಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಡಿಪ್ಲೊಮಾ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅನೇಕ ನಾಟಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿನಯಿಸಿ, ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ರಂಗ ಮತ್ತು ನೃತ್ಯ ತರಬೇತಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕಲಾನಿಧಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕನ್ನಡ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ರತ್ನ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವು ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿರುವ ಅವರು, ಭರತನಾಟ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಭಿನಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Radha Rani hails from Sirsi, Uttara Kannada. She holds BA and MA degrees in Bharatanatyam from Mysore University and a Diploma in Acting from Rangayana, Mysuru. She has performed in numerous plays and continues to train children in theatre and dance. A recipient of awards such as ​‘Kalanidhi’ and ​‘Kannada Vikasa Ratna’, she is a teacher of Bharatanatyam and acting.

Bangalore Blooms is visual poetry that takes viewers on a mesmerising journey to explore Bengaluru’s popular Pink Trumpet flowers in bloom. The Pink Trumpet flowers, also known as Tabebuia Rosea, are often mistaken for cherry blossoms. When these flowers bloom, the entire city explodes in pink. The film showcases the ironic harmony between the bustling cityscape and the exemplary beauty of these heritage trees.

The iconic Rex theatre on Brigade Road was a hot favourite of Bengaluru’s cinema goers. In recent years, as with many other single-screen theatres, Rex too was on its last leg. The influx of multiplexes and malls had snatched away the charm of the good old single screen! On December 31, 2019, Rex screened a film for the last time – it was the blockbuster KGF 1. This film captures the theatre on that day, capturing for posterity the last minute of the theatre’s existence. Kamal Kapur, the Managing Director, narrates the history of Rex and shares his family’s emotional connection with it.

An ongoing initiative to infuse a message with the national anthem, the film has conceptualised a young, future India in the hands of Gen Z. Choreographed and filmed at various locations in Bengaluru, this visual rendition of Jana Gana Mana is a tribute to the Indian Independence Day. Messages of compassion, care, concern for the environment and love for India are embedded in the video, and a new version of it with a new message it is released every year at midnight on August 14.

ತಾಳಮದ್ದಳೆ-ವಾಲಿವಧೆ | TaaLamaddaLe – Vaali Vadhe 

ತಾಳಮದ್ದಳೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಯಕ್ಷಗಾನದ ಒಂದು ರೂಪವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಕರಾವಳಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಯಾವುದೇ ವೇಷಭೂಷಣಗಳಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಪಾತ್ರಧಾರಿಗಳು ಒಂದೆಡೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆಯ ಮೂಲಕವೇ ಅಭಿನಯಿಸಿ ತೋರಿಸುವ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಪ್ರಕಾರವಿದು. ಭಾಗವತರು ತಾಳ, ಚಂಡೆ, ಮತ್ತು ಮೃದಂಗದ ಲಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ (ಹಿಮ್ಮೇಳ) ಪಾತ್ರಧಾರಿಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ (ಮುಮ್ಮೇಳ) ಕಥೆ ಹೇಳುವ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಯೇ ತಾಳಮದ್ಸಳೆ.

ಆಹಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿ  (ವೇಷಭೂಷಣಗಳು) ಮಿಕ್ಕಳಿದ ಯಕ್ಷಗಾನದ ಅಂಗಗಳಾದ ಆಂಗಿಕ (ಅಭಿನಯ), ವಾಚಿಕ (ಮಾತುಗಾರಿಕೆ) ಮತ್ತು ಸಾತ್ವಿಕ (ಮೌಲ್ಯದೃಷ್ಟಿ)ಗಳನ್ನು ತಾಳಮದ್ದಳೆ ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ಈ ಅಧಿವೇಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಲಿವಧೆ ಎಂಬ ಕಥಾಪ್ರಸಂಗವನ್ನು ತಾಳಮದ್ದಳೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಪಡಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಕಂಚಿನ ಕಂಠದ ಭಾಗವತಿಕೆ, ಚಂಡೆ, ಮದ್ದಳೆಗಳ ಜುಗಲ್ ಬಂದಿ, ತೂಕಭರಿತ ಹಾಗೂ ಉತ್ಕೃಷ್ಟ ವಾಗ್ವಿಲಾಸದ ಆಸ್ವಾದನೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಹೃದಯರ ಕಲಾ ರಸಗ್ರಹಣಕ್ಕೆ ತಾಳಮದ್ದಳೆ ರಹದಾರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.

TaaLamaddaLe is a unique form of Yakshagana, popular in the coastal districts of Karnataka. Unlike the traditional Yakshagana, this form does not involve costumes or makeup. The performers sit together and enact the story entirely through dialogue. The Bhaagavata (MummeLa) narrates the story accompanied by rhythmic beats of taaLa, chanDe, and mridanga, which is the essence of TaaLamaddaLe. 

(‘HimmELa’) Except for the visual element, Ahaarya (costumes), TaaLamaddaLe retains all other aspects of Yakshagana – Aangika (gestures and expressions), Vaachika (dialogue delivery), and Saattvika (emotional depth and values).

In this session, the story episode Vaali Vadhe will be presented through TaaLamaddaLe. The audience will experience the richness of melodious Bhaagavatike, the rhythmic jugalbandi of chanDe and maddaLe, and the intellectual delight of powerful dialogues.

ಕಥಾ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶ | Story context : 

ಪಿತೃವಾಕ್ಯ ಪರಿಪಾಲನೆಗಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನ ಸತಿಯಾದ ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ರಾವಣನು ಅಪಹರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಜಾನಕಿಯನ್ನು ಅರಸುತ್ತ ಹೊರಟ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರು ಪಂಪಾತೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾನರ ವೀರನಾದ ಸುಗ್ರೀವನ ಸಖ್ಯವನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋದರರಾದ ವಾಲಿ-ಸುಗ್ರೀವರಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ವಿರೋಧವಿರುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಅದರ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಕಾರಣಗಳು ರಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರ ಅರಿವಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತವೆ.. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ  ರಾಮನು ವಾನರ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನಾದ ವಾಲಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವುದೆಂದೂ, ಸುಗ್ರೀವನು ತನ್ನ ವಾನರ ಸೇನೆಯನ್ನು ಸೀತಾನ್ವೇಷಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಸಹಕರಿಸುವುದೆಂದೂ ಇಬ್ಬರ ನಡುವೆ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಒಪ್ಪಂದವೇರ್ಪಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಒಪ್ಪಂದದ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು ವಾಲಿ ಕ್ರೋಧಾವಿಷ್ಟನಾಗಿ ಸೋದರ ಸುಗ್ರೀವನನ್ನು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅಷ್ಟು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ; ತನ್ನ ಮಡದಿ ತಾರೆಯ ಮಾತನ್ನೂ ಧಿಕ್ಕರಿಸಿ ಸುಗ್ರೀವನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಸೋದರರಿಬ್ಬರ ನಡುವೆ ಯುದ್ಧವೇರ್ಪಟ್ಟಾಗ ಸುಗ್ರೀವನ ಸ್ನೇಹಕ್ಕೆ ಕಟ್ಟುಬಿದ್ದ ರಾಮನು ವಾಲಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಾಣ ಪ್ರಯೋಗ ಮಾಡಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುತ್ತಾನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ವಾಲಿಯ ಅವಸಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು ಎಸಗಿರುವ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳೇ ಕಾರಣವೆಂದು ಮನವರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.  ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ ರಾಮನ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ವಾಲಿಗೆ ಜ್ಞಾನೋದಯವಾಗಿ ಅವನು ಮೋಕ್ಷವನ್ನು ಬಯಸಿ ರಾಮನಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವತ್ವವನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ.

When Raavana abducts Sita, Lord Rama sets out in search of her along with Lakshmana. On the banks of the Pampa River, they befriend Sugriva, the valiant Vaanara warrior. Rama learns about the enmity between Sugriva and his brother Vaali and the reasons behind it. Rama agrees to kill Vali, while Sugriva promises to send his monkey army to help in Sita’s search.

When Vaali learns of this pact, he becomes furious and challenges Sugriva to a duel, ignoring even his wife Taara’s advice. During the battle between the brothers, Rama, bound by his promise to Sugriva, shoots an arrow and kills Vaali. Rama explains the reasons for Vaali’s downfall, leading to Vaali’s realisation. In the end, Vaali attains enlightenment, seeks liberation, and recognises Rama’s divinity.

Dr S K Aruni has been with the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) for 26 years and currently serves as Regional Director of the Southern Regional Centre. He earned his master’s in history and archaeology from Karnatak University, Dharwad, and completed his PhD at Deccan College, Pune, on History and Culture of Surapura Samsthana (1650 – 1857). With over two decades of experience in research and administration, he headed the Bangalore Regional Centre (1998 – 2015) and later served as Officiating Member Secretary of ICHR (2015 – 2017). His specialisations include Architectural History, Archaeology, and Urban History of Medieval South India. He has authored seven notable works, including Surapura Samsthana, Dakhani Citrakale, and Architecture of Yelahanka Nada Prabhus. A participant in many national and international conferences, he is also associated with academic bodies, such as the Kannada Sahitya Parishat and several boards of studies, including Bangalore University, Mount Carmel and Jyothi Nivas colleges. Through his scholarship and leadership, he is recognised as a distinguished historian and researcher.

ಆಕಾಶವಾಣಿಯ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಧ್ವನಿಭಂಡಾರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಹಿರಿಯ ಸಾಧಕರ ಭಾಷಣ, ಚಿಂತನ, ಸಂದರ್ಶನ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಗೀತ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಧ್ವನಿಮುದ್ರಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯ್ದು, ಅವುಗಳ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಧನೆಗಳ ವಿವರಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶ್ರೋತೃಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಪಡಿಸುವ ವಿನೂತನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಆತ್ಮೀಯವಾಗಿ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.  ಡಾ. ಬಸವರಾಜ ಸಾದರ ಅವರು ಪರಿಕಲ್ಲಿಸಿರುವ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಎರಡು ಭಾಗಗಳಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ: 

1. ಬಾನ ಮಾತು

2. ಬಾನ ಗಾನ

This unique programme presents selected recordings from All India Radio’s treasured archives – speeches, reflections, interviews, and musical performances of eminent achievers – along with details of their backgrounds and accomplishments. By bringing back these timeless voices, the programme inspires the new generation with the wisdom and artistry of the past.
Conceptualised by Dr Basavaraj Sadar, this programme is presented in two parts:
 

1. Baana Maatu (Words of the Sky) is an analytical presentation of talks by writers, scholars, scientists, artists, and thinkers. This is conceptualised and presented by Dr Basavaraj Sadar.
2. Baana Gaana (Songs of the Sky) are selected excerpts from programmes of stalwarts of Carnatic and Hindustani music. This is conceptualised and presented by Dr N Raghu

ಬಸವರಾಜ ಸಾದರ/ Basavaraj Sadar

ಬಸವರಾಜ ಸಾದರ ಧಾರವಾಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಕುಂದಗೋಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತಿ, ಕವಿ, ವಿಮರ್ಶಕ ಮತ್ತು ಆಕಾಶವಾಣಿ ಕಲಾವಿದ. ಎಂ.ಎ. ಮತ್ತು ಪಿ.ಎಚ್.ಡಿ ಪದವಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದ ಇವರು, ಬಸವರಾಜ ಕಟ್ಟೀಮನಿಯವರ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಗಳ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆಯನ್ನು ಮಹಾಪ್ರಬಂಧವಾಗಿ ರಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ​‘ತೊಟ್ಟು’, ​‘ಬುದ್ಧನ ಭಿಕ್ಷಾ ಪಾತ್ರೆ’ ಮುಂತಾದ ಕೃತಿಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಾವ್ಯ, ವಿಮರ್ಶೆ, ಸಣ್ಣಕಥೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಬಂಧ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮದೇ ಆದ ಗುರುತನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿ, ಡಾ.ಡಿ.ಎಸ್. ಕರ್ಕಿ ಕಾವ್ಯ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ, ಗೊರೂರು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾನ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ, ಆರ್ಯಭಟ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅನೇಕ ಗೌರವಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಜ್ಞಾನಪೀಠ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ವಿಜೇತರು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಗಣ್ಯರ ಸಂದರ್ಶನಗಳನ್ನು ಧ್ವನಿಮುದ್ರಿಸಿರುವುದು ಇವರ ವಿಶೇಷತೆ. ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಕೃತಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಬಾನುಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Basavaraj Sadar is a noted Kannada writer, poet, critic, and All India Radio artist. Born on July 20, 1955, in Kundagol of Dharwad district, he earned his MA and PhD degrees, with his doctoral thesis focusing on the novels of Basavaraj Katimani. His works, such as Thottu and Buddhana Bhiksha Patre, have established his reputation across genres of poetry, criticism, short stories, and essays.
He has received several honours, including awards from Karnataka Sahitya Academy, Dr D S Karki Poetry, Goruru Pratishthana, Aryabhata and recognitions from All India Radio. Notably, he has recorded interviews with eminent personalities, including Jnanpith awardees. Through his literary contributions and radio programmes, Basavaraj Sadar has made a significant impact on Kannada literature and culture.

ಡಾ. ಎನ್. ರಘು, ಐ.ಬಿ.(ಪಿ)ಎಸ್., ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಸಂಗೀತ ಸಂಯೋಜಕ, ವಿದ್ವಾಂಸ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಸಾರಕರು. ಭಾರತೀಯ ಪ್ರಸಾರ ಸೇವೆಯ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ವಲಯದ (ಕಂಟೆಂಟ್‌ ಆಪರೇಷನ್ಸ್‌) ಉಪ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆಕಾಶವಾಣಿಯ ಗ್ರೇಡ್-I ಸಂಗೀತ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರಾಗಿರುವ ಅವರು ಸಿತಾರ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ತರಬೇತಿ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದು, ಕನ್ನಡ ಸುಗಮ ಸಂಗೀತ ಪರಂಪರೆಯನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿ, ಖ್ಯಾತ ನೃತ್ಯಬಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ವಿಜೇತ ನಾಟಕಕಾರರಾಗಿರುವ ಇವರು ರಸಾಂಶ: ಎ ನ್ಯೂ ಹೈಪೋಥೆಸಿಸ್ ಇನ್‌ ಇಂಡಿಯನ್‌ ಮ್ಯೂಸಿಕ್ ಎಂಬ ಗ್ರಂಥದ ಲೇಖಕರಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಹಂಪಿಯ ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಿಂದ ಡಿ.ಲಿಟ್ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ರೇಡಿಯೋ ಸರಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿ, ಮಹಾಕಾವ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುವಾದಿಸಿ, ಆಕಾಶವಾಣಿ ಅಮೃತವರ್ಷಿಣಿ 100.1 ಎಫ್.ಎಂ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾರತದ ಮೊದಲ ಡಿಟಿಎಚ್ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ತೀಯ ಸಂಗೀತ ವಾಹಿನಿ ​‘ರಾಗಂ’ಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Dr. N. Raghu, IB℗S, is a distinguished composer, scholar, and broadcaster, serving as Deputy Director (Content Operations), South Zone in the Indian Broadcasting Service. A Grade‑I Music Composer of Akashvani and trained in Sitar, he has preserved the Kannada Light Music tradition and composed acclaimed dance ballets. He is a National Award-winning playwright, author of Rasamsha: A New Hypothesis in Indian Music, and holds a D.Lit from Kannada University, Hampi. He has produced celebrated radio serials, translated epic works, and pioneered channels like Amrithavarshini 100.1 FM and RAAGAM, India’s first dedicated DTH Classical Music Channel.
