From neighbourhood streets to coastal shores — how do everyday places become stories that shape how children see the natural world?

Join Nandita da Cunha, award-winning author of The Miracle on Sunderbaag Street, The Miracle on Kachhua Beach, Pedru and the Big Boom, What’s the Point of Kiki?, and Where I Belong, in conversation with Shashwat DC, as she reflects on writing for children — weaving together place, environment, empathy, humour, and the quiet questions of belonging.

Through stories rooted in neighbourhoods, beaches, changing landscapes, and everyday encounters with the natural world, the conversation explores how nature is not always distant or wild, but deeply present in the spaces children inhabit every day.

This webinar is part of the Nature Writing for Children series by Azim Premji University, which brings together authors, educators, and readers to explore how storytelling can reconnect children with the wild, the real, and the everyday.
