Beatrice Cherrier will be our International Scholar-in-Residence from 16 – 20 Sept 2024. With her primary area of interest being the history of economics, Beatrice will engage with the university community through talks and one-on-one meetings. In addition, she will also deliver a lecture at Christ (Deemed to be University), Koramangala in association with the Indian Society for the History of Economic Thought (ISHET). 

At Azim Premji University, History of Economic Thought (HET) is a compulsory course for BA in Economics students and is an elective for MA in Economics students. Over the last decade, more than 10 students have completed their BA/MA thesis in HET

About the Speaker

Cherrier Beatrice is a CNRS researcher, affiliated with CREST, and an associate professor at Ecole Polytechnique (where she teaches controversies in the history of 20th century economics, the history of applied economics, and the history of economists facing nature). She has published in prestigious journals such as History of Political Economy, Journal of the History of Economic Thought, and Journal of Economic Literature
