The National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) emphasises on providing quality early childhood development, care and education to children in the 3 – 8 years age group (foundational stage), which builds a strong foundation for their school education. It also emphasises on full participation of children with diverse learning needs throughout the schooling years.

Why the PG Diploma programmes?

There is an acute shortage of well-trained school teachers and ECE functionaries who can fulfil the promise of delivering high-quality services to the diverse population of children across different age groups.

The Diploma programmes in Education offered by Azim Premji University aim to fulfil the need for good quality professional development programmes to help develop the capabilities of teachers and professionals working in the regular school system.

Who should join the programme?

The programme is designed for professionals working in the area of education for at least 2 years.

Teachers, teacher educators, school functionaries, academic coordinators, curriculum developers, test papaer developers, special educators, Government/Private/NGO bodies working with school system may apply

Programme highlights

The Postgraduate Diploma programme is a one-year part-time programme offered in a blended mode, combining online and on-campus components. The PG Diploma programme comprises four certificate programmes (spread over 12 weeks).

The programme gives the participants the flexibility to continue working while attending the course. The blended mode of the programme helps bridge theory with practice.

Online teaching will be conducted through lectures, group work, workshops, presentations, readings, participation in discussion forums on Learning Management Systems, audio/video material, and regular assessment.

Each certificate programme will have one week of on-campus engagement, providing opportunities for sharing learning through intensive group work and interaction with experts and practitioners from the field.

The on-campus components will be held in the Bengaluru campus of Azim Premji University.
