Internship: Arts Education

Students in the Arts Education OT have two internship options: project-based or traditional.

Project-based internships may be based on the project proposals written in the Arts Partnerships course. These internships emphasise creative output, allowing students to apply their skills in real-world contexts through hands-on projects in various sectors like community arts, education, healthcare, culture, nonprofits, government, and international NGOs. Through project-based internships, students engage in meaningful projects, translating information into actionable strategies and producing concrete tools such as curriculum, community arts projects or workshops. At the end, students present their creative outputs to peers.

Traditional internships focus on practice within an establish organisation in response to their current needs. These internships may culminate in a report, podcast or video. Working closely with faculty mentors, students delve into practical settings, producing text or media based on their experience to contribute to broader understanding of arts education, community development, and/or arts in health.
