This course gives a more comprehensive introduction to some important classes of inorganic compounds and includes transition metals, organometallic chemistry, chemistry of metal clusters and silicates. Students study the structure of compounds, their reactivity, reaction mechanisms, catalysis and application in synthesis. The laboratory focuses on the preparation and applications of transition metal organometallic complexes, silicates and boranes.
