Umashanker Periodi has been with the Azim Premji Foundation since 2003 and in the development sector for four decades. A postgraduate in social work, he has been involved in mobilising Dalits, Adivasis and other vulnerable sections, to fight for their rights. A founding member of Karnataka State Trainers Collective, he has trained teachers and NGO field workers in ​‘Barefoot research’.
