Biography

Sayonika Sengupta is an educationist with over 15 years of work experience in the areas of child rights, curriculum development, inclusive education and project management. 

She has completed her MA in Education (Elementary) from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai. She highly values her learning engagement with Pravah as an intern and Commutiny – The Youth Collective as a Fellow during her formative years. She is also a certified Arts-Based Therapy (ABT) practitioner. 

Prior to joining the University, she was associated with Snehadhara Foundation, Bengaluru as Senior Facilitator and Arts Practices for Inclusion (API) Supervisor. During her years with Snehadhara, she also functioned as a teaching faculty for Digi Akshara, a course to train special educators in using digital mediums to work with vulnerable population. 

She has also worked with The Timbaktu Collective, Anantapur as Coordinator (Child Rights Programme) and with Avehi Abacus Project, Mumbai as Research and Networking Officer.

She has a specific interest in working with children and youth with special needs and is passionate about creating inclusive learning spaces for them.
