Biography
Rahul has earlier worked with Azim Premji Foundation, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Mumbai and Wipro Foundation, as a Visiting Faculty and Consultant. He has also worked as a full-time faculty member at Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, earlier in his career.
His Doctoral dissertation, ‘Anthropology of the Education Bureaucracy’, was an anthropological study of the complexities of the everyday functioning of a state-level educational bureaucracy, from the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Bengaluru.
His research work has been in the following areas: Right to Education (RTE), the changing nature of the public and private in school education, early childhood education, accountability in school systems, and education regulation.
He has prior experience and continuing interest in engaging collaboratively with civil society organisations working in the domain of school education. He is currently interested in working in the area of children’s libraries.
