Biography

Mehreen received her PhD in Psychology from the University of Delhi in 2025, specialising in Developmental and Child Psychology. Her doctoral research examined socio-cognitive processes in neurotypical and neurodivergent children, with a focus on empathy, moral reasoning, and theory of mind. 

Earlier, she worked as an Assistant Professor (Research Track) at SGT University, Gurugram, where she taught courses in research methods, developmental psychology, and cognitive psychology; and mentored postgraduate and doctoral students. Her current research explores digital tools for empathy enhancement, moral reasoning and theory of mind development, and socio-emotional learning in educational contexts.

Mehreen’s work has been published in reputed international journals such as Frontiers in Psychology and the Review Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders. She was selected for the prestigious Emerging Psychologist Programme (EPP) at the International Congress of Psychology in Prague (2024) and the Emerging Psychologist Programme by the National Academy of Psychology, India (2025). 

Mehreen finds her deepest motivation in working with children – understanding their inner worlds and translating that insight into more compassionate, evidence-based educational practices.
