Biography

Garima Gupta began her professional journey as a school teacher after completing her BElEd from the University of Delhi. Her early classroom experiences, particularly her work with children with visual impairment and learning disabilities, shaped her enduring engagement with inclusive education. During this phase, she developed resource rooms, designed differentiated worksheets, and created experiential curricula that responded to the diverse learning needs of children. She later worked as a curriculum developer with the Rupantar Project of the Sri Aurobindo Society, contributing to school transformation and teacher capacity-building initiatives.

Her interest in teacher education and professional learning deepened during her MA in Education at Azim Premji University. Since then, her research and practice have focused on understanding teacher learning through practice, inclusive pedagogies in diverse early childhood classrooms, and the design of professional development in ECCE that is grounded in teachers’ everyday work. She has been closely associated with organisations such as the National Council of Teacher Education, SCERT Delhi, and Pratham, where her work intersected with large-scale national initiatives including the National Mission for Mentoring and NIPUN Bharat under the National Education Policy 2020. She has contributed significantly in development of ECCE curriculum and related teacher handbooks, children workbook and efficacy studies in Foundational years of school education at Delhi.
