Devakumar is a part of the Student Affairs function at Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, working on student engagement. He is a development practitioner with over a decade of experience in public education, community engagement, and youth development.

He has worked extensively with School Management Committees (SMCs) in Tamil Nadu government schools, engaging parents and communities to strengthen school processes and accountability.

Prior to this, he was associated with Agaram Foundation for over eight years, where he served as Head of Training and Development. He designed and implemented large-scale training and mentorship programmes, working with over 5,000 youth to support their holistic development, and contributed to building career pathways and partnerships.

His interests include strengthening public education systems, enabling youth pathways, and fostering community-driven change.

Outside of work, Devakumar enjoys travelling, meaningful conversations, and listening to people’s stories. He finds value in understanding different perspectives and connecting with communities across diverse contexts.
