Biography

Ashruti works with the Teacher Education team and coordinates the professional practice field components for the BSc BEd programme at Azim Premji University. 

She earned her Postgraduate degree from the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad, with a degree in English. She holds an honours graduate degree in English Literature from St. Xavier’s College, Jaipur, where she received an award for Excellence in Academics and the Pride of Department award. 

Prior to joining the University, Ashruti worked for a year as an academic writer and subject matter expert for English language and literature in Jaipur. She has received a 50-hour training course in learner-centred teaching techniques and activities from British Council in association with the Times Group. This training culminated in a 3‑month long teaching engagement in English for Employability’ for vocational graduates training in government institutes in Jaipur. 

She has also worked as an Editor for several college publications and has also organised events and conferences. 

She has a deep love for literature, creative writing, music, and theatre. Her recent focus is on taking drama and other expressive arts to the classroom and integrating them into teaching and learning.
