Asha Singh

Biography

Asha Singh is a visiting faculty member with the School of Education at Azim Premji University.

She is an early childhood education specialist and former Associate Professor, Lady Irwin College, Delhi. She has a PhD and an MSc degree in Child Development from Delhi University and a Master of Education (MEd) degree (Psychopedagogy, Elementary Education and Teaching) from the University of Ottawa, Canada. 

Her initial work with children and communities helped generate positive attitudes towards diversity. She has combined a multiplicity of interests in music, dance, and drama with academic and research pursuits using traditional and new media to study children’s thoughts. 

She is keenly interested in arts/​theatre in education and promoting theatre in pedagogy among teachers. Having been Director of Education and Research for Indian Sesame Street (Galli Galli Sim Sim), she is specialising in child-related media studies and content development.
