Arvind is a member of the School of Arts and Sciences.
He is creating a curriculum on campus wellness at Azim Premji University. He started with teaching long distance running at the campus in 2016 and has been rewarded with seeing 3 outgoing batches use running as an effective tool to physical and emotional well-being. He is interested in getting students to enjoy being outdoors and the aim is to expand the scope of this work to help the larger university community to find the time to and enjoy being active.
He comes with prior experiences in starting up and running sports organisations based on community and personal value creation, and letting capitalistic gains be a by-product of this larger goal. In his stint as head of Runners for Life for 11 years, he helped spearhead the distance running revolution in India, and hopes to repeat the success by bringing about a wellness revolution among the young.
