The Mela | KathaVana 2023 Children’s Literature Festival

Explore writing as a process and ways to include it in a classroom

Kathavana 2023 The Mela

Join us for the 12th edition of KathaVana—a bilingual (Kannada and English) annual children’s literature festival hosted by Azim Premji University since 2012 — to promote children’s engagement with literature and introduce teachers to the power and relevance of literature in children’s lives.

Each edition of KathaVana takes up a theme and explores issues related to that theme more closely. The theme for the 12th edition — KathaVana 2023— is Teachers Writing for Children.

We welcome you to join us for our On-campus Children’s Literature Festival (fondly called The Mela). The event will have around 1,000 people (including 850 children) in attendance at Azim Premji University’s Bengaluru campus.
